What is Reformer Clinical Pilates

Pilates is a form of exercise that was created by Joseph Pilates. Clinical Pilates is based on the traditional Joseph Pilates method, although it differs from traditional Pilates as it takes into account the participants individual physical needs. Pilates works on balance control, muscle control, lengthening and strengthening muscles.  At Twin Rivers Osteopathy your session will be taken by a qualified instructor, ensuring you’ll be able to enjoy your session with the knowledge that it will be tailored to your individual needs and injuries.

  • Tailored to you

Traditional Pilates requires a high level of strength, control and body awareness, which initially can be too much for a beginner or someone with an injury. Clinical Pilates has modified traditional Pilates exercises to reduce the demands on the spine, creating more options to allow you to participate.

  • Will I benefit?

If you have long term back pain, feel like your core strength could be improved, or if you want to work on your overall strength and muscle control, then Pilates is for you. We work on balance control, muscle control, lengthening and strengthening muscles.

Strengthen and Lengthen

Overtime, we will work to improve your balance, improve your mobility, to create a strong and resilient body. There will be many adaptions, allowing you to work at your level, with the option to progress when you are ready.

“Change happens through movement and movement heals.”

Joseph Pilates
